Eid was celebrated in Orchids-The International
school, in accordance with the festivity associated with the festival on
Thursday, 8/8/13.
The students of VIII and IX classes gave a presentation
on the festival and the significance behind it. They informed about the strict
penance and the prolonged fasting that precedes the festival. Details were
given about how the final day of Ramzan-the holy month of the Muslims, is
celebrated after the sighting of the moon. It was followed by an Eid song by
the pre-primary.
Boys wearing kurta pyjamas hugged one another, wishing
ID-MUBARAK.
The principal, Mrs.Mona Mehdi in her address to the
students, told them that religious tolerance and brotherhood are an integral
part of the Indian culture and a must for the development of the nation and a
healthy soceity.
